Most of our styling and packaging research is conducted using a comparative, quantitative product clinic methodology.

These are conducted in one of two ways:

  • Live/in-person (generally at a central facility)
  • Virtually/online (generally via the internet)

Each method has its own distinct advantages – and sometimes we use a combination of the two.

(For more on each methodology, please follow the links to the right.)

In either case, we invite the opinions of people from a variety of different backgrounds.  Most commonly, we invite the opinions of members of your target market, but we also sometimes solicit opinions from experts/opinion leaders, designers, your own clients, or even your own staff, colleagues, personal and/or private contacts.  Each type of person brings his or her own benefits to the project.

From a cost standpoint, participants fall into two broad categories:

  • Sample we provide – generally more expensive
  • Sample you provide – generally less expensive

We also use a host of other methodologies for our bespoke research projects.
